Digital Imaging

Radiographs are an important part of the dental process, as they allow us to see things we can’t see with our eyes alone. At Main Street Dentistry, Dr. Sabbag hand Dr. Salahieh use digital imaging to take radiographs when he determines they’re necessary for proper diagnoses. Digital imaging results in a 50% shorter exposure time than traditional radiography machines, allows us to see cavities more clearly and enables us to store patient images so they can be quickly transferred to specialists or other professionals if needed.

Digital X-Ray

Digital x-rays are more precise than traditional x-rays and result in only 1/6th of the exposure time. With digital x-rays, we don’t have to hold the film up to the light in order to see cavities. Instead, we can view the images on a computer screen that allows us to see potential problems more easily.

Laser Dentistry

If the thought of drills and needles has scared you away from the dentist in the past, you’re in luck! Laser dentistry is one of the latest advances in dental technology. In laser procedures, concentrated light is directed at problem areas and can often be used to fix a problem with no need for anesthesia. For surgical procedures, the laser eliminates the need for stitches and can result in a faster recovery.

Here are a few procedures that can be done through laser dentistry:

  • Cavity removal
  • Curing bonding materials
  • Teeth whitening
  • Gum-related care
  • Canker sore treatment
  • Tongue-tie release without anesthesia or sutures
  • Root canals
  • Apicoectomies
  • Crown lengthening
  • Gingivectomy and other gum corrections

Intraoral Camera

An intraoral camera is a tiny camera that allows us to see high-quality images of the inside of your mouth. These images show much more than the traditional mirror can, which results in shorter appointments for you! Our doctors use intraoral cameras in our office to make accurate diagnoses and to keep a record of your past treatments. These records can be printed in case you’d like a copy for your own records or for your insurance company.
